Online Museums
Online Museums #
In the last few months I've come across a few different "web museums" on sites like Hacker News and Reddit. They capture this wonderful niche of web 1.0 content.
In that I figured it would be good for me to start to capture some of these sites in a sort of living document about them, so I'll have place to come back to them
Definition of a online museum #
I'm currently unclear on this, but I think it has to be a collection of blog posts about a specific topic, as if you are visiting exhibits in a museum
The list #
- Coopers Tool Museum
- OS/2 Museum This one is more like somebody's blog, but its still interesting
- Des Paswson's Knot Tying Museum
- The Toaster Museum - this is the one that started this page for me
- The History of the Web - historical timeline of internet development
- Carabiner Collection - a collection and comparison of carabiners that you can go and browse
